Yes, site measurement is available for qualified projects before fabrication, subject to the agreed scope and site conditions. Measurement helps confirm opening width and height, diagonals, levels, sill depth, wall condition, access, obstructions and the interfaces that drawings or photos may not show. It is an important step, but it does not remove the need for coordinated drawings, approvals or clear responsibility for site preparation.

Measurement is most useful when the openings are accessible and substantially ready for inspection. If finishes, plaster, flooring or structural work are incomplete, later changes can still affect the final installation. The quotation or contract should state whether measurement, travel, revisions and re-measurement are included.

Decision points

  • Owner: Provide access and identify known leaks, renovations, security restrictions and the preferred installation sequence.
  • Architect/designer: Keep the latest opening schedule available and coordinate measured conditions with the approved design.
  • Contractor/builder: Prepare safe access, clear obstructions, mark reference levels and resolve substrate issues before fabrication.
